Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brownfield Cubs. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 15-4 to the Eagles when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Brownfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Roosevelt will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lamesa at 11:30 a.m. Lamesa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Brownfield, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fort Stockton at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Stockton also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 6.1 runs per game.
