Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Geneva

Geneva won the last time they faced Hampshire and things went their way on Saturday too. The Geneva Vikings rang in the new year with a 52-44 victory over the Hampshire Whip-Purs. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Whip-Purs are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Geneva's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Hampshire, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
