Baseball Recap: Marion Has No Trouble Against Trinity

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Council Grove, Marion was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Trinity Celtics by a score of 6-2. That looming 6-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Lander Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Marion is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Marion's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Krause, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Hitch Soyez was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Trinity, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Marion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Celtics: the pair will be back at it again later today.
