Baseball Recap: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Hunter Wolverines
Cedar Valley never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Hunter Wolverines with a sharp 24-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.
Tyson Horne and Holden Rich were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Horne pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Rich pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Horne went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Rich scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Cedar Valley got a massive performance out of Talen Ryan, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Ryan a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Laws, who scored three runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Cedar Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Coming up, Cedar Valley will be taking part in a tournament against Cedar at 9:00 a.m. on March 14th. As for Hunter, they will take on Grantsville at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hunter is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
