Baseball Recap: Fort Dorchester's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Fort Dorchester unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the Summerville Green Wave. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Green Wave earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Fort Dorchester got a good showing from Thomas Wamer, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Wamer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fort Dorchester saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Clark, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Clark has snagged this season.

Fort Dorchester's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Summerville, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 20-8.

As of now, neither Fort Dorchester nor the Green Wave have any future games scheduled.
