Basketball Recap: Curtis Baptist Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brayden Husband and Kingsly Shine

The Curtis Baptist Crusaders came up short against the Bible Baptist Christian Wolves on Saturday and fell 53-43.

Despite the loss, Curtis Baptist had strong showings from Kingsly Shine, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 17 points, and Brayden Husband, who posted ten points and eight boards. The contest was Shine's fourth in a row with at least 15 points.

Jaquayvion Gilmore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bible Baptist Christian, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 33 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Gilmore has scored at least a third of the Wolves' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alphonso Rolle, who earned 13 points and five boards.

Curtis Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bible Baptist Christian, they moved to 3-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Curtis Baptist will venture away from home to square off against Community Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on December 1. As for Bible Baptist Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
