Dickinson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Clear Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Gators will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dickinson comes in on eight and Clear Falls on four.
On Friday, Dickinson took their matchup with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over Clear Springs. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 38 points or more this season.
Dickinson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lorenzo Aguirre led the charge by throwing for 313 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. Tavin Gomez was another key back, rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown.
Dickinson didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Clear Springs to a completion percentage of just 31.8%. The Gators weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.7%.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clear Falls). They blew past Clear Brook 56-21 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Wolverines are ranked 806th).
Dickinson better keep an eye on Zach Greer. He was instrumental in Clear Falls' win, picking up 357 receiving yards and six scores. Thanks to that big game, Greer is now up to 18 receiving touchdowns on the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyden Barker, who threw for 361 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt.
One reason for the win was Clear Falls' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Braydin Rupert with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Briggs Worthington was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 17 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Dickinson's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Clear Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Dickinson against Clear Falls when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-28 win. In that game, the Gators amassed a halftime lead of 56-28, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
