Baker has gone 8-2 against Big Pine recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Baker Braves will head out to take on the Big Pine Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Wednesday, Baker came up short against Mojave and fell 40-32. The Braves have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their defeat, Baker saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anthony Ortiz, who posted 11 points and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 34.4% of Baker's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Amador, who had eight points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Big Pine entered their game against Lone Pine on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Big Pine was beaten by Lone Pine 86-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered since January 18, 2024.

Big Pine's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Baker won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played on Friday, slipping by Big Pine 40-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Baker since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
