Volleyball Game Preview: Andrean Fighting 59ers vs. Highland Trojans

Andrean is a perfect 10-0 against Highland since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Fighting 59ers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Andrean has three straight wins, Highland has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Lowell wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Andrean, they should've done a better job of containing Dani Poskin. The Fighting 59ers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Red Devils on Thursday thanks in part to Poskin, who had 22 digs and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 20 games she's played.

Andrean had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-12, 25-19, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against Illiana Christian on Monday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-11, 25-9.

Andrean's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-20.

Everything went Andrean's way against Highland when the teams last played back in September, as Andrean made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Fighting 59ers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
