Baseball Game Preview: Cape Henlopen Vikings vs. Smyrna Eagles

The Cape Henlopen Vikings will square off against the Smyrna Eagles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Henlopen will be strutting in after a victory while Smyrna will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Cape Henlopen beat Lake Forest 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Smyrna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to Salesianum. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Eagles who fell 4-2 when the teams previously met back in April of 2023.

Smyrna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cape Henlopen, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Cape Henlopen came out on top in a nail-biter against Smyrna in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
