Softball Recap: Canyon View Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Canyon View waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Providence Hall Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-5 back in March.

Maisy Brady was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sadie Shumway was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Payton King, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Canyon View's record now sits at 14-7. As for Providence Hall, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canyon View will welcome Pine View at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Providence Hall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Delta at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
