Basketball Game Preview: Clover Park Timberwolves vs. Washington Patriots

The Clover Park Timberwolves will square off against the Washington Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Clover Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

Last Friday, Clover Park was fully in charge, breezing past Fife 80-52.

Clover Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ijohn Taylor, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and three steals, and Marshall Scott, who posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. The matchup was Scott's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kristian Carter was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight boards and four blocks.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Clover Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Washington entered their tilt with Eatonville on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Cruisers 77-39. That 38 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Washington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Clover Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Clover Park came out on top in a nail-biter against Washington when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 78-75. Does Clover Park have another victory up their sleeve, or will Washington turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
