Football Game Preview: Cate Rams vs. Sage Hill Lightning

The Cate Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Sage Hill Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cate is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Cate is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Chadwick on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rams were beaten by the Dolphins 55-20. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.

Meanwhile, Sage Hill faced Flintridge Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lightning took a 29-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Cate's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sage Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Cate didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sage Hill in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Lightning have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
