Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Haw River Christian Academy two weeks ago, Ascend Leadership came back down to earth. The Aviators fell 68-58 to the Triangle Math & Science Tigers on Wednesday. The Aviators haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Leading Triangle Math & Science to victory were Ayyoub Baianonie and Ahish Pidikiti. Baianonie dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Pidikiti shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points and six assists. The matchup was Pidikiti's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Melih Dede was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Triangle Math & Science, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Ascend Leadership will take on Chatham Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will square off against Raleigh Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
