Basketball Recap: Coleman Falls Despite Big Games from Emily Vansickle and Klaira Sysak

Coleman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 58-38 to the Vestaburg Wolverines. The game was a close 18-17 at the break, but unfortunately for the Comets it sure didn't stay that way.

Despite the defeat, Coleman had strong showings from Klaira Sysak, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds, and Emily VanSickle, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Sysak a new career-high in blocks (three). Kendall Allen was another key player, putting up nine points.

Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Vestaburg, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-13.

Coleman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vestaburg, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
