Volleyball Recap: Devine Starts Season with Win on the Road

Devine had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Wagner Thunderbirds with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Warhorses / Arabians in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.

Devine never let Wagner on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 27-25, 25-11.

Devine was led to victory by Cami Carroll and Calleigh Schneider. Carroll had 14 digs and four assists, while Schneider had four aces. Those four assists gave Carroll a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Devine will take on Giddings at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wagner, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Southwest at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
