Softball Preview: Duluth East Greyhounds vs. Denfeld Hunters

The Duluth East Greyhounds are taking a road trip to face off against the Denfeld Hunters at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Duluth East's last matchup with Cambridge-Isanti could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Greyhounds came up short against the Bluejackets, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their meetings with the Bluejackets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Denfeld was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to Moose Lake/Willow River.

Noelle Vesel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
