Baseball Game Preview: Lewis County Lions vs. Fairview Eagles

The Lewis County Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Fairview Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lewis County has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lewis County challenged Paintsville on Thursday. The Lions came up short against the Tigers, falling 12-2. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairview). Everything went their way against Chesapeake on Friday as they made off with a 21-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Fairview's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-12. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.

Lewis County couldn't quite finish off Fairview when the teams last played back in April and fell 6-4. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
