Softball Recap: Flatonia Triumphs

Flatonia extended their postseason success on Saturday against Charlotte. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Trojans on Thursday, they had to take a 13-4 defeat.

Jalee Trussell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Flatonia got a massive performance out of Emma Kosler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and three doubles. Those three doubles gave Kosler a new career-high. Emma Klozik was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Flatonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Flatonia's win bumped their record up to 14-10-1. As for Charlotte, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-5 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Flatonia beat the Trojans by a score of 11-8 later that day.
