Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Bulldogs vs. St. Joseph Catholic Bruins

The Enterprise Bulldogs will head out to take on the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Enterprise has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Enterprise is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Presbyterian Christian, falling 13-6.

Enterprise got a good showing from Gavin Smith, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Enterprise saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smith, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Smith a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Joseph Catholic's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Andrew's Episcopal on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Bruins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for St. Joseph Catholic, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
