Football Recap: East Marion Takes a Loss

East Marion fought the good fight in their overtime game against Jefferson Davis County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 28-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.

When it comes to explaining why East Marion lost, don't look at Jabarrus Jefferson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Jefferson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 91-yard run. Jaquez Hathorn helped out on the ground, rushing for 94 yards.

East Marion now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Jefferson Davis County, their record is now an identical 2-3.

East Marion and Jefferson Davis County will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will challenge rival Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis County is set to square off against their familiar foe Magee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
