Recap: Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers vs. Windber Ramblers

The Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. They really took it to Windber for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-55 victory at home. Berlin Brothersvalley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 24 points or more this season.

Berlin Brothersvalley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haydon Hutzell, who went 9 for 16 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hutzell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Jarvis, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

Several Ramblers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grady Klosky, who scored 15 points. Tanner Barkley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Berlin Brothersvalley pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.5 points per game. As for Windber, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Berlin Brothersvalley and Williamsburg will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 7th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Berlin Brothersvalley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matches -- so hopefully Williamsburg likes a good challenge. As for Windber, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conemaugh Township at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Windber will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Conemaugh Township is ranked 151st).
