Basketball Recap: Hayfield Starts Season with Win Against Woodbridge

Hayfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 81-35 victory over the Woodbridge Vikings. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-18.

Hayfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Judy led the charge by going 6 for 7 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Those 14 points gave Judy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney E. Carmichael Ii, who posted ten points and four steals.

Woodbridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Hayfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-52 win against South Lakes on the 10th. As for Woodbridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-52 loss against Glen Allen on the 7th.
