Basketball Recap: Round Valley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Round Valley was the 59-34 winner over Valley when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Round Valley Elks fell 56-43 to the Valley Pirates on Thursday. The Elks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Round Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kelci Walker dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Walker is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Carla Arreola, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Round Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive matchups.

Round Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
