Football Recap: Maumee Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Maumee unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Springfield Blue Devils on Friday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maumee is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Napoleon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will head out to challenge Northview at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
