Softball Recap: North Lenoir Hawks vs. Martin County Gators
With a playoff win on the line, North Lenoir rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the Martin County Gators 4-2. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on four straight.
Maddie Rouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, North Lenoir saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Hatcher, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Lakyn Whitley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
