Preview: Cambridge Trojans vs. Bertrand Vikings
Cambridge and Bertrand are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Cambridge Trojans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bertrand Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Cambridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
Cambridge struggled with assists on Saturday (Chase County had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Cambridge lost to Chase County on the road by a decisive 59-41 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cambridge in their matchups with Chase County: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brohdey Wood, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ben Hoberty was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Bertrand waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kenesaw and snuck past 43-41.
Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Bertrand, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Cambridge couldn't quite finish off Bertrand when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 46-43. Will Cambridge have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
