Softball Recap: Cimarron Starts Season with Win at Home

Cimarron gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Larned Indians 6-5.

Quinn Campbell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Randa, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Cofer, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Larned's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Larned beat Cimarron by a score of 22-7 later that day.
