Soccer Game Preview: Spencer vs. Columbus

Spencer hasn't had much luck against Columbus recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Greenwave will welcome the Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. Spencer will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Spencer had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Kendrick last Wednesday. The Greenwave blew past the Cherokees 7-2. That five-goal margin sets a new team best for Spencer this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matches, Columbus finally came back down to earth last Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carrollton. One thing that didn't help Columbus' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Christian Buenrostro.

Columbus' goal came courtesy of Will Chiles, who's now up to eight this season.

Spencer now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Spencer couldn't quite get it done against Columbus in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Greenwave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
