Football Recap: Owyhee Braves vs. Wells Leopards
On Friday, Owyhee faced Wells in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Owyhee Braves were dealt a 46-0 defeat at the hands of the Wells Leopards. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Leopards recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kelan Jones rushed for 54 yards on only five carries.
Hunter Smartt was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards.
Wells found their leader in underclassman Johnny Glascock, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Gage Uhlig was another key player, gaining 112 total yards and a touchdown.
Owyhee's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wells, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owyhee will head out to challenge Pyramid Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wells, they will venture away from home to face off against Virginia City at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
