Basketball Recap: Deweyville Comes Up Short

Deweyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Evadale Rebels 92-28. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.

Evadale was led to victory by Jaden Gravis and Warren Brewer. Gravis went 9 for 14 en route to 20 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while Brewer went 9 of 13 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds. That's the most assists Gravis has posted since back in November of 2024. Devin Terrell was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and four steals.

Deweyville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Evadale, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Deweyville will look to defend their home court on Monday against West Hardin at 7:00 p.m. As for Evadale, they will challenge Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evadale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
