Volleyball Recap: Southwest Christian Stars vs. Maple Grove Crimson

Southwest Christian was the 2-0 winner over Maple Grove when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Stars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crimson on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Southwest Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anna Brunsberg had 15 digs. Jemima Robillard also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Leading Maple Grove to victory were Tess Schuler and Mckinley Hardle. Schuler had 15 digs and one assist, while Hardle had ten digs and three aces. Those 15 digs gave Schuler a new career-high.

Southwest Christian dropped their record down to 13-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Maple Grove, the win (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 26-3.

Looking ahead, Southwest Christian will take on Sibley East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Maple Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
