Softball Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Notre Dame (SO) barely beat Chaminade the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-1 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Aliyah Garcia was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Nadia Ledon was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Adiah Fountain was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Notre Dame (SO) hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 13 consecutive matchups.

Notre Dame (SO) pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Chaminade, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-9-1 record.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame (SO) will challenge Camarillo at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 1.9, the Scorpions 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Chaminade, they will face off against Sierra Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
