Basketball Recap: Arvell Nelson Jr Key Part of a Team Effort in Tarblooders Win

Glenville won the last time they faced Collinwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Glenville Tarblooders strolled past the Collinwood Railroaders with points to spare, taking the game 69-51. Given the Tarblooders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Railroaders are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glenville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arvell Nelson Jr, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Garry Pritchett Jr, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Glenville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.9 points per game. As for Collinwood, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenville will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Strongsville at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Collinwood will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against North at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th.
