Basketball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss. They had to suffer through a 54-11 loss at the hands of the Serena Huskers. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 703rd, while the Huskers are ranked 197th).

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Serena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Hiawatha will venture away from home to face off against Schaumburg Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Serena, they will challenge Peotone at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
