Baseball Recap: Rocket City Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Rocket City was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshall County Tigers. The contest marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Timmy Hays was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Walter Pruitt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Rocket City's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Marshall County, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

While Rocket City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
