Basketball Recap: Cedar Catholic Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

If Plainview wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cedar Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Addison Walter. The Cedar Catholic Trojans blew past the Plainview Pirates 44-21 on Thursday thanks in part to Walter, who went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points and eight boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Katelyn Arens, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Cedar Catholic is 10-5 when Arens posts eight or more boards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Despite the defeat, Plainview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Riley Miller posted eight points and nine rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Cedar Catholic and bumps their season record up to 11-7. As for Plainview, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Cedar Catholic has already played their next contest, a 41-36 win against Battle Creek on the 3rd. As for Plainview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-16 defeat against Elkhorn Valley on the 3rd.
