Volleyball Recap: Orofino Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against St. Maries last Thursday, Orofino came back down to earth. The Maniacs lost 3-0 to the Grangeville Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Maniacs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Orofino was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Grangeville work for it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 26-24.

Rachael Province paced Orofino's offense, picking up nine kills. Province got some help from Brynn Hanna and her 11 assists. Province also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sierra Tondevold, each putting up four.

Orofino now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Grangeville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Coincidentally, Orofino and Grangeville will both be playing Priest River the next time they take the court. The Maniacs will host the Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
