Basketball Game Preview: Whitmer Panthers vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

Having just played yesterday, the Whitmer Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Perrysburg likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Whitmer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 71-67 to Richmond Heights. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (64), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Perrysburg). They blew past Findlay, posting an 81-37 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellow Jackets who have now won four contests in a row.

Perrysburg pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Whitmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Whitmer didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Perrysburg when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitmer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
