Montpelier won against Ottawa Hills last Wednesday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Locomotives took down the Hicksville Aces 70-51. Surprisingly, this marked the Locomotives' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Montpelier found their leader in sophomore C.J. Fidler, who went 12-for-22 to rack up 29 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Smeltzer, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points and six boards.

Montpelier's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hicksville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montpelier will welcome Delta at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hicksville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Continental at 7:30 p.m.
