Baseball Recap: West Columbus Comes Up Short

After flying high against Heide Trask last Friday, West Columbus came back down to earth. The West Columbus Vikings came up short against the St. Pauls Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 12-2. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 15-5 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

West Columbus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jahan Lesane-Powell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

West Columbus now has a losing record of 3-4. As for St. Pauls, their record now sits at an identical 3-4.

Coming up, West Columbus will challenge South View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Columbus is facing South View at the right time seeing as South View is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Pauls, they will take on Freedom Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freedom Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so St. Pauls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
