The Pocomoke Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pocomoke is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Parkside on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Pocomoke was outmatched by Parkside and fell 51-15. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-4.

Pocomoke's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Donyae Washington, who posted six points along with 20 rebounds and three steals, and Danae Dennis, who earned a point and 13 boards. Washington is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 39 games she's played dating back to last season.
Even though they lost, Pocomoke smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cambridge-South Dorchester was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 44-39 to Seaford. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 103rd in Maryland, while the Bluejays are ranked tenth in Delaware).
Pocomoke will need to focus on slowing down Le'Asia Todd, one of several Cambridge-South Dorchester players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double with ten points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tejanae Ballin, who scored 14 points.
Pocomoke's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
Thursday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Pocomoke has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 36.4% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Cambridge-South Dorchester struggles in that department as they've made 36.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Pocomoke was dealt a bruising 63-30 loss at the hands of Cambridge-South Dorchester in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Todd, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 17 boards. Now that Pocomoke knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
