Ciara Cargo-Acosta leads a balanced attack to beat Ocosta

Recap: Crescent Loggers vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Crescent Loggers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against Ocosta by a score of 44-33. For Crescent, this counts as revenge for the 25-19 defeat Ocosta walked away with the last time they faced one another last Saturday.

Crescent's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ciara Cargo-Acosta led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three blocks. The contest was Cargo-Acosta's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Gales, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Ocosta had strong showings from Alexia Bradley, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Anna Davis, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 25 rebounds, and ten steals. Those 25 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.

Even though they lost, Ocosta were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescent only pulled down an offensive rebound.

Crescent's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Ocosta, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Crescent will be home for the holidays to greet Quilcene at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Ocosta, they will head out on the road to face off against Ilwaco at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
