Volleyball Recap: Lindbergh Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Mehlville

Lindbergh faced Mehlville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Flyers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1. The Flyers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lindbergh had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.

Lindbergh was led to victory by Alex Ahrens and Tyler White. Ahrens had six digs and two aces, while White had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most aces Ahrens has posted since back in March.

Despite the defeat, Mehlville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grant Drikow had 15 assists and seven digs.

Lindbergh's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Mehlville, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-5.

Lindbergh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lafayette on the 22nd. As for Mehlville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Rockwood Summit on the 22nd.
