Baseball Game Preview: River Islands Riptide vs. McNair Eagles

The River Islands Riptide will challenge the McNair Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. River Islands will be strutting in after a victory while McNair will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, River Islands needed a bit of extra time to put away Pacheco. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Panthers.

Israel Fuentes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Fuentes was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matthew Echivarre, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Santiago Lopez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, McNair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to Waterford.

McNair's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for River Islands, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
