Basketball Game Preview: Emporia Spartans vs. Hayden Wildcats

The Emporia Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Hayden Wildcats on Friday.

Last Friday, Emporia took a blow against Manhattan, falling 62-29. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Indians are ranked 48th).

Meanwhile, Hayden waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-49 W against the Trojans.

This is the second loss in a row for Emporia and nudges their season record down to 2-10-2. As for Hayden, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.

Emporia was taken down by Hayden 56-16 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Emporia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
