Recap: Hayfork Timberjacks vs. Dunsmuir Tigers
The Hayfork Timberjacks can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They blew past Dunsmuir 75-46 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hayfork has posted since December 14, 2023.
Hayfork got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Bonelli out in front who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Bonelli is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Daniel Kasper was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Dunsmuir still got an impressive performance from Michael Kellar, who scored 32 points along with three steals and two blocks. That was a full 69.6% of Dunsmuir's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hayfork has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Dunsmuir, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Hayfork will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Tulelake at 5:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Leo Leon and Bonelli. Dunsmuir won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Happy Camp at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th.
