Basketball Recap: Blue Earth Comes Up Short

Blue Earth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 56-38 bruising from the Maple River Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 68-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Blue Earth's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Maple River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Earth has already played their next match (against Minnesota Valley Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maple River will be playing at home against Jackson County Central at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Jackson County Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
