Basketball Recap: St. Martin de Porres Takes a Loss

St. Martin de Porres lost against Wickliffe back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The St. Martin de Porres Lions were beaten by the Wickliffe Blue Devils 49-22.

Despite the loss, St. Martin de Porres still got an impressive performance from Dessiona Jackson, who posted four points in addition to eight boards and five steals.

Even though they lost, St. Martin de Porres smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

St. Martin de Porres' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wickliffe, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

St. Martin de Porres wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-8 loss against Chardon on the 26th. Wickliffe and Berkshire will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Berkshire will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Wickliffe surely won't give up without a fight.
