Soccer Game Preview: Central Wise vs. Abingdon

The Central Wise Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Abingdon Falcons on Thursday. Central Wise will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Central Wise proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over John Battle.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Abingdon was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Gate City by a score of 2-1. Abingdon's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Abingdon's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Central Wise, they pushed their record up to 12-0-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Central Wise skirted past Abingdon 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
